Gustpaw, StarClan
A small shimmering shape sat hidden in the den, the shadows hiding the figure from the glow of the full-moon. It was the Gathering, and most of the cats would be at the Starpool. Stars speckled his light gray pelt, glimmering and winking even in the darkness. Frost played about his paws, yet they gave off no cold. Dark blue eyes glowed, an unknown expression shining in its depths. Gustpaw waited, as still as a stone, for the cat who he needed to speak with.

Checkerpelt
Checkerpelt was left at camp for the gathering. She was basically the only warrior there, besides Skytide, who had stayed behind with her. Except for now, he was out hunting. The queens and elders were asleep, so she was alone, waiting for her loved to return. Out of no where, she felt the presense of another cat. She turned around to see a starry figure sitting before her. "Hello. Who might you be?" she asked the StarClan cat calmly, but excitement shaking her voice. Why would StarClan visit her?

Gustpaw, StarClan
The tom nodded his head in solemn greeting. Though he looked like a mere apprentice, he had walked the skies of StarClan, watching the living, for countless moons--longer than this cat had lived. "Greetings, Checkerpelt. My name is Gustpaw, and I have been in StarClan for many seasons," he mewed. "I have come with a warning."

Checkerpelt
Checkerpelt walked a little closer to the cat, wanting to observe the StarClan cat better. This was her first time with a personal entercountment with a deceased cat. "A warning?" the tortoiseshell she-cat echoed. I wonder what is wrong... she thought, now wearing a worried face.

Gustpaw, StarClan
The undersized apprentice gazed at the MistClan cat before him with an uncharacteristic seriousness. Even in StarClan, he still carried some of the mischief that he'd had when alive. Back then, he would have find it rather hard to imagine himself helping another Clan, let alone all the Clans, other than just his own--StormClan. But now, after spending 21 moons in the afterlife, he watched every Clan.
Gustpaw stepped closer towards Checkerpelt, craning his neck up to her ear. "Trouble is coming," he murmured, his voice nearly a whisper, even though there were no other cats. "The warrior code..." His form shimmered, already fading, not letting him finish. Within moments, all that was left was the faint scent of a land far away.
Meanwhile back at the ranch~
Galepaw gazed down at the stagnant surface of the water, dark blue eyes glittering, watching as Gustpaw whispered his warning. Hidden in the shadows of the Dark Forest, a grin pulled at the corners of his mouth.

Checkerpelt
Checkerpelt shook her head in confusion. She didn't understand this. The StarClan tom was starting to fade away. "N-no! Don't go! Explain this to meee!" she pleaded. But he didn't come back. "Trouble is coming... The warrior code..." she repeated Gustpaw had said. What did he mean? Who or what was coming?!

Galepaw
Just as the StarClan cat faded away, another figure shimmered into sight on the opposite corner of the den. His short grayish tabby fur matched Gustpaw's, and the gleaming blue eyes were the same. The only difference was that a aura of darkness seemed to shroud the apprentice's body, making it seem as though he were absorbing light. Other than that, they were almost exactly alike.
Galepaw flicked his ears, waiting for Checkerpelt to notice him. She wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them, for they had been twins, and had even died together, though not the way one would have imagined. True, their personalities contrasted, but deception was no problem.

Checkerpelt
Still muttering Gustpaw's words, she turned around to see him, again? "I thought you just left?" she said to the cat wearing a confused expression.

Galepaw, Dark Forest
He nodded somberly, expecting the question. "Yes," the impostor meowed. "I had to attend to something." Now...what would my foolish brother have already told her? About trouble no doubt. Galepaw stepped out of the corner into a small beam of moonlight. The darkness that surrounded him seemed to absorb it somewhat, impenetrable. "There will be a great change," he hissed, gazing at Checkerpelt through narrowed eyes.

Checkerpelt
The she-cat absorbed the words the cat spoke. "What is going to happen?!" she wailed pleadingly.

Galepaw
"I can't tell you exactly," he said in a low voice. In the back of his mind, he wanted to laugh out loud. This was easier than he'd thought. Gustpaw would pay, and Checkerpelt would be a wonderful pawn, seeing how raptly she was listening to him. Galepaw stared at her, blue eyes intense. "There will be a time when you can no longer live under your current warrior code," the tom continued, tail sweeping from side to side. "That time is coming. You must all live under a new code." At this, he stopped, waiting for a response before going into more detail.

Checkerpelt
Checkerpelt snorted, lashing her tail. She had a right to know-ALL of it. As the tom began to speak again, she listened carefully. "A new warrior code?" she spat at the cat who was superposabley Gustpaw. "Are you insane?" she accused the apprentice-sized feline.

Galepaw
The tip of his tail twitched slightly, but he disguised the spark of annoyance. It would take away to convince this cat, seeing she'd live under their current code for so many moons. "Yes. A new code," Galepaw repeated patiently. "Things will change. And when they do, following the current code will only lead to the Clans' own destruction. Have you forgotten it's StarClan who created the warrior code in the first place?"
